You're not a C Cup

No one is.

"C" doesn't exist.

"Well then smarty pants, what's a 36C? That exists."

Correct- cup size doesn't exist in a vacuum. It's a representation of the ratio between your underbust and overbust measurements. Each letter (or step in the scale depending on the brand) represents 1" of difference. That's it. That's how bras work. Plus all the nuances of fit, but that's the universal starting point.

So "I'm a C" means nothing- are you a 30C or a 40C? Those are very different sized people.

Also consider this:

The glass on the left is a 10oz restaurant rocks glass. The glasses on the right are 10oz stemless champagne flutes. Links to prove it. No affiliation.

Same volume, different shapes.

If I were fitting these glasses for bras, the rocks glass might be a 34DD/E. Decidedly mid-sized. Knowing that both types of glasses hold 10oz, that would make the champagne flutes 30Gs- roughly 2 sizes narrower so two cups higher to maintain the same ratio. I'm fitting by eye here to make a point, not doing the actual math.

You might be a 36C in a very structured bra made from firm material and a 34D in something softer. Truth is you're probably not a 36C in either- most people misjudge or have access to bras at least a few band sizes too big and cups too small. Almost every "36C" we fit is a 32/34 G or F.

What's the point of this post? Bras can be tricky, but they're supposed to fit. Trained professionals with years of experience can look at you, maybe grab a quick band measurement and get you in a size that will work better. If what you have is driving you nuts, it's time to try something else. Book a fitting and let us help you!
