We hear it a lot- "Oh I can't be a DD- DDs are huge! I'm a B cup at the most."
Well guess what- DDs are actually pretty small as far as boobs go.
Simply put, people who wear DD bras generally have a 5" difference between their band measurement and the fullest part of their bust.
What does that look like? It depends on the torso. A 30DD is a lot less breast tissue than a 40DD. When the body gets bigger the breasts get bigger too, but the tricky part is the ratio stays the same.
Here are some images to help:
The blue bra is a 32DDD. The purple is a 32D. The two beige in the middle are 42D above 32D. Julie's wearing a 32DDD and I'm in a 32DD. The grey 34G UK (US I or DDDDDD) is a very common size and is just the beginning of what most have in their heads as DD.
So let's do our part to break the stereotype that DD is some Dolly Parton esque over the top size. It's not. No shade to Dolly, she's amazing.
